Q. Why does MeetandMate not offer a 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month membership?

A. MeetandMate is not interested in pure membership "numbers." With no third-party investors, we have nobody to impress. We are interested in responsible members who respect each other. In our opinion, opening our doors to hit-and-run members will prove detrimental to the quality of atmosphere we can provide for our loyal members.

Q. Am I expected to have sex at the beginning of the encounter?

A. NO. You will hear this time and again. What you do, and when you do it, is only your choice. Yes, a few of our members are a little more anxious than other members. For the majority, most of our members form an attraction for one and other before ever agreeing to meet. Even then, sex is hardly a prerequisite for meeting. Many choose the ordinary "dating" rules, such as meeting in a public place, and getting to know each other, before taking the encounter to the next level.

Q. Why don't you have 17 million members like the other "dating" sites?

A. Our goal is to bring you an intimate community. Again, numbers are meaningless compared to the quality of our membership. Also, we concentrate only on certain geographical regions. Instead of being something for everyone, we seek to be everything for some. You can be assured that we are doing all we can to bring you a unique, "first-rate" casual dating forum.

Q. I am in a relationship and do not want my significant other to find out about my MeetandMate involvement. I am thinking about joining, but am unsure of the risk level?

A. We have done all we can to protect your secret. First, we have incorporated a third-party holding company called Great White Holdings, Inc. We do all of our monthly billings through this company, resulting in "Great White Holdings, Inc." appearing on your credit card statement, not "MeetandMate.com." Payment can also be made through Paypal. Second, we will never contact you by phone, snail mail, or email. We will only contact you by leaving you a message in your MeetandMate mailbox (which is password protected). Third, our website does not leave a "cookie" on your computer. Fourth, an "Eject!" button can be selected from our website. By selecting this option, your profile and billing information will be permanently deleted. We never heard of you; you never heard of us. Fifth, there is an Escape! button on every page of our website. By selecting Escape!, your browser will be routed to a more innocent website. For more tips regarding privacy, click here.
Even will these security measures, there are three ways you may get caught. First, make sure your significant other is not peering over your shoulder, looking at the computer screen. Second, do not give your personal contact information to any other member (we hold your signup information in the strictest confidence, we never resell information to 3rd parties). Third, be covert in your physical meetings. If you obey these guidelines, you should be in the clear.

Q. Why are the selections in the Profile Creation section "vague?"

A. The selections are vague to protect your privacy.

Q. What is the difference between canceling my subscription, and selecting "Eject?"

A. Typically, you would cancel if you were so bored of sex that you want a break (yeah, right!). Your profile, username, and subscription information are stored in case you decide to join us in the future. The Eject! button should be used if you get caught by your significant other and need to bail. All user information will be deleted. As far as we are concerned, you never came to our site.

Q. Suppose I was to join, and then quit between billing cycles. Would I get charged for the entire cycle?

A. We are hear to keep our clients satisfied. If you did decide to leave us, you will be charge to the day you leave us, on a pro-rated basis. For example, if you joined for a one-year cycle, but left us 50 days later, you would be charged 50/365 of the one-year fee. A bill will be sent shortly after you cancel your account. The single exception to the pro-rated basis is during your first 90-day period. You may cancel service, but you will be charge for the full 90-day period. This rule is to prohibit hit-and-run membership.

Q. Why do you charge a fee to use your service?

A. Ideally, we would not charge a fee. Our other option was to load our webpages full of animated advertisements. We felt this option would prove detrimental to the quality of the MeetandMate experience. While we make every effort to keep our costs low, we have to charge reasonable and customary fees to pay for web storage, bank and merchant account fees, site upgrades, and incorporation fees.

Q. What do I do if someone in the MeetandMate community has become bothersome?

A. First, try letting the member know about your discomfort, and see if the situation improves. If the member persists, contact us at relations@meetandmate.com. We will contact the member to discuss the situation. If deemed necessary, or if we receive multiple complaints pertaining to the same member, the member may be terminated. If you are terminated, the pro-rated basis of billing, as described above, applies. A membership may also be suspended for any length of time.
